[Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.] THE DAVIS (UP. LONDON. July 14. As the result of recent meetings, it is disclosed the Great Britain. Franco South Africa and New Zealand are in favour of playing the Davis Cup matches less frequently than annually. Australia. Holland. Tndia, Ireland. Switzerland and the United States did not concur.
The French delegate supported less frequent contests, because some of the Davis Cup players went about playing tennis six months a year, meanwhile receiving expenses which savoured of professionalism. At The Heights tennis tournament, Helmofe beat Hie New Zealander Dennistou 6—o. 6—3,
