[Australia &. N.Z. Cable Association.] ROSE’S PROSPECTS. WELLINGTON, July 14. The- Chairman, Mr IT. AfeCormack, Wellington Centre Amateur Athletic ■Association, last evening stated he was pleased to note that the New Zealand Council was retaining faith in Rose. He was still confident what he could do. When Rose became accustomed to new surroundings and conditions he would surely prove himself capable of all expected from him.
Air H. Rose, father of the champion stated that his son wrote him from England, ft© received a letter in the last few days which stated that lis son had put on thirteen pounds’ weight during the trip to England.
The Chairman remarked it was recognised that runners, especially distance men, take a considerable time to get back into form after a ...spell from hard work. He added that Rose who' was a very hard working farmer, must naturally find it. difficulty to get back to form after a spell and the rest during the voyage Home.
