FOUR YEARS FOR A PRINCE. BUDAPEST, May 2G. The judge tin's evening passed sentence in the forged franc note affair. M. Nadosy, the former Chief of Police, anil Prince Ludwig AVindischGratz received four years’ penal servitude. Other sentences were: MAI. Gaits and Kurtz, ex-directors of the Cartographicltl Institute, one year’s imprisonment ; M. Geroe, adviser to the Cartographical Institute, two years’ penal servitude; M. Raha. Prince Ludwig Windisch-Graz’s secretary, 18 months’ .imprisonment. The other prisoners received sentences varying between one y«ir and • one month. M. Baross, the Director i of the Savings Bank and M. Szoertsye, Vice-Director of the National Union, were acquitted. The prosecution has appealed ior more severe sentences, while the defendants have appealed for mitigation. Meanwhile all the defendants except Prince Ludwig lVindisch-Gratz and M. Nadosy have been set at liberty. [Early this year 24 people, including members of the distinguished families. were arrested in connection with a plot which involved the printing of about 30,000 forged 1,000-franc French notes. The object, it was stated, was to raise money for Hungarian political purposes.]
