UV TELKCRAI'H —I-RF.SS ASSN., COPYRIGHT. RUGBY league! AUCKLAND, July 9. The Council of the New Zealand Rugby League granted a request to the Auckland League for permission for a game against the best available New Zealand team and the Auckland rep. side, before the former’s departure for England provided it is played oil or before July 17tli.
Questions were raised as to a Parliamentary farewell in Wellington, and a suggestion r- to ask the Government’s assistance as was given to ■ the 1924 Rugby team. This was opposed by a majority of the delegates. Swinnerton and Toohev were empowered to proceed to Wellington to arrange a farewell. Though there is no official communication from the English Rugby League re the itinerary, semi-official advice indicates several fixtures in France have been arranged for the tourists.
