LONDON, July 7. The general elections in Canada have again focussed attention on tho possibility of the postponing of the Imperial Conference. Canadian circles in London assert that it will bo impossible for the new Canadian Prime Minister to leave Ottawa so soon after the election to attend at the original dale. It is thought that a postponement will lx> favourably considered.

CANADIAN POLITICS. OTTAWA, July 7. It is understood that the Liberal Party will make the constitutional issue the keynote of their election campaign, and also that they have two proposals in view if they should he returned to power. The first is to hold a Fall session of Parliament for the voting of supply. The second is tbe appointment of a commissioner to examine, the constitutionality of the nets of the present Meighcn Administration. The Liberal Headquarters issued a statement on Wednesday declaring:— "Mr Meighcn constitutes now all that (bin he designated as the Government of Canada. Whatever pertains to Canada’s domestic, inter-imperial, and international affairs anil responsibility in-so-far as Minsiters are sworn to administer the several departments of Government, lie is the entire Cabinet and the sole Executive.” The statement adds: “Either there is in Canada no Government which will be recognised ns such bv British constitutional practice, or the Government is one man—a Government that is carrying on with such expedients as he himself is devising.”

The election date is unlikely to he announced for ten days vet.
