PARLIAMENT
(by TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION THE HOUSE. WELLINGTON, July 3. The House met at 2.30 p.m. The afternoon sitting was taken up with formal business and an explanation by Mr Lysnar of certain points in connection with the sale of Poverty Bay meat works to Vestevs, upon which he claimed he had been misrepresented hy Mr D. Jones (member for Ellesmere and the Chairman of the Meat Board). In the evening Hon. Downie Stewart (Minister of Finance) delivered the Budget, the reading of the document occupying 55 minutes. At the conclusion the Minister was greeted with a round of applause and the House rose at 8.30 till 2.50 p.m. next day.
