FOOTBALL.
[Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.] RECEPTION TO ALL BLACKS. (Received this day at 11.0 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 8. In addition to the civic reception tendered to the All Blacks, the team was enthusiastically welcomed by a large gathering of the general public at the Town Hall. Mr Wood, president of tire X.S.W. Union, said that the people would like to see a British team here. It was nearly twenty years since such a team had visited Australia. The local Union must support the New Zealand Unions and request that the British teams visit Australia and New Zealand. If that happened he would like the union to send a representative team to play the British team in Sydney. Mr Leith and Mr Porter on rising to reply received ovations. Both thanked the public for the exceptionally warm welcome extended to the team.
