The identity of the second victim of the Grey bar drowning fatality on May 30th.. appears tn he solved by the following death notice, which was published in Tuesday’s “Lyttelton Times": “Garland—Herbert Hillsbortigh, the youngest son of the late Joseph and Mary Ann Garland, of Chapman’s Bond, Hillsborough. Accidentally drowned in a yachting fatality on the Grey Bar. Deeply regretted.” Particulars regarding deceased, 'who was a stranger to Greymouth, could not previously be obtained, and bis name was supposed to be “Dargill.” His body lias not yet been recovered, although a search is still being maintained by the police.— Grey “Star.”

In reference to the announcement made last week (.hat Sir Truby King’s daughter had left for Rio de Janiero, Sir Truby King told a Wellington correspondent, that a doctor received a cablegram asking for the despatch next day of a Karitane nurse to care for a. newly born infant, whose mother was unable to feed it owing to puerperal fever. Dr Truby King endeavoured in vain to obtain throughout New Zealand any nurse who was prepared to. leave at one day’s notice, and -at the last moment bis daughter went. He stated that there was always a demand, far beyond the possibilities of the supply, for the service of New Zealand Tvaritane nurses to undertake responsable positions abroad as matrons and teachers.
