lIV TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSN., COPYRIGHT COUNTRY RACING CLUBS. WELLINGTON, July 7. The. Country Kucing Clubs discussed several matters at tlieir annual conference, held to-night. Eighteen; clubs were represented and Mr W. Jewell (President of the Association) presided. Mr Vann’s resolutions were carried and will be brought before the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Bollard, to-morrow. The Conference re-affirmed its former attitude in respect to the totalisator taxation, to double totes and to the publication of dividends in the newspapers. The following were elected officebearers. —President, Mr Jewell, V icePresident, Mr J. Kennedy; executive for the South Island Messrs E. K. Neale, D. J. Evans, F. C. Bodie; North Island, Hon. E. AV. Allison. Messrs A. Bruce and W. A. Lyon. . It was stated the country clubs were carrying a heavy burden and more relief was urgently wanted.
