It is learned that no official communications have lieen exchanged regarding the reported abandonment of the Imperial Conference in October, if Canada is unable to send representatives owing to the general election being expected in September. While tlie report cabled from London is unconfirmed it is assumed if the Premier is unable to attend the Conference it will lie postponed or abandoned.
