HOSPITAL BALL.
A largely attended meeting of ladies was hold in the Hospital Board room last evening at 7 o’clock for the purpose of inaugurating the annual Hospital Ball. Mrs J. J. Breeze was elected Chairwoman and .Misses Moore and Halliday lion, secretaries. It was resolved to hold the Ball on Wednesday, September Ist, and the Juvenile Ball on September 2nd if the Drill Hall can be secured on these dates. Mention was made of the unpleasantness caused last year on account of the dust, but it was suggested that bis could be obviated by a thorough cleaning of the walls and rafters and members of the
Hospital Board present expressed their willingness to assist in having this done so that repetition of the trouble is unlikely. It was resolved also to apply for the use of the Horticultural
Hall adjoining and if this can be secured extra dancing space will be available. Various other matters were discussed and sub-committees appointed. particulars of which will be announced later. The next meeting was fixed for Wednesday, 14th July, at 7 p.nt.
