SPANISH PLOT.
[Australia & N.Z. Cable Association.j MADRID, Juno 25. A semi-official message minimises the plot, which is declared to have been of a Communist, rather than a Liberal character. The officers involved lifted individually, and none were oil the active list. Nevertheless arrests were made, and those arrested will bo tried by a competent tribunal. PARIS, June 20. The paper “Lo Matin” says: “The insurrection in Sptiin is directed against Premier primo IJo River,.!, with whom the Junta's officers are most dissatisfied, owing to his re in trod notion of the method of promotion in the army by choice instead of by seniority. The discontented officers are hostile to the Government. MADRID. June 26.
General -Prim'si Do Rivera, Premier of Spain, in a statement to the press, declared that the plot was organised by a few persons on the pretext that they had been deprived of liberty and of a genuinely constitutional regime. The Premier claims that the immense majority of the Spaniards wish the present regime and Government to continue and they demand severe measures against any unscrupulous persons seeking to disturb the country. The Government Did decided on vigorous action agal nst the culprits.
