LONDON, May 20. Not content irith. the excitement of his climbing escapade of a year ago, when lie spent a day and a night on the roof of Parkhurst Prison Chapel, Isle of Wight, a convict named Burford, while at exercise, suddenly divested himself of his clothing and dived into a tub of liquid tar. The officers were naturally in no hurry to get- at close quarters with Burford when he left his sticky retreat, and led a chase round the prison yard, leaving a trail of tar in his wake.
Burford was eventually secured, thoroughly scraped, and removed to hospital-for treatment,
