During his term ns Governor-General in New Zealand, Lord Jellicoe. of course, became closely acquainted with the whole country, and the observations he makes are of special value as coming from an experienced and impartial observer. A splendid tribute to the people of Xew Zealand, the introduction also contains suggestions on Native affairs, compulsory arbitration. and experiments in State control, which will lie road with the greatest interest. A keen sportsman himself, Lord Jelfieoe refers enthusiastically to the facilities for all kinds or sport so abundantly provided in Now Zealand. Many distinguished visitors have written of New Zealand in the past, hut it is sale to assume that few have written with so great a knowledge of their subject.
