Jewels valued 'at. £IO,OOO were stolen yesterday from the 7:55 p,in, Riviera express as it was about lo leave the Garo do [Lyon, Mine. dlezir. after placing her jewels in a red morocco case in her sleeping berth ,weut to tr.dk to her sister in an adjoining compartment. When she returned tho case was missing. As the train was mvoing out of tho station .Mine. Jezir was not able to report her loss until the first stopping place, Laroche. Tho empty <rise was found to-day under a bench in a waiting room at the Garo do Lvon. Jewclo thieves have l>oen especially busy in Paris during tlio past low days. Only yesterday the. theft of pearls find diamonds to tho value of £IO,OOO was reported from the residence of M. Gaston Levy in tho Avenue Hoclie.
