(‘ailianx is the latest man approached, hut ho has repeatedly refused to accept the Finance Ministry unless he is simultaneously made head of the Government. It is now confidently predicted that M. Jlriand will he compelled to approach an expert who is not a member of Parliament.
in the meantime M. Briand is canvassing the Party Leaders regarding the possibility of a stable majority without which the Premier declares that he will not take office.
