Since Wednesday last there has been a fog every morning, several of them of extraordinary density. In former winters two or even three fogs occurred on successive days but the Weather Bureau records dating back to 1859 do not show a condition similar to that at present, existing. -The' ferry traffic on the harbour is badly disorganised, some boats being held up for hours.
