A conference of State Premiers to make a second protest, against the Federal Government’s proposal to abolish the per capita payments, has commenced here. FINAL WOOI, SALES. SYDNEY, June 21. A throe-days’ series of wool sales commenced to-day. and will conclude, tho 1925-20 season. The market ruled about equal to last sales, with stronger competition on Continental and Yorkshire account. Autumn shortwools met a keen demand. Skirtings, and lambs’ wool sold well at full late rates. Burry and w.asty descriptions met a poor demand, and were difficult to sell. Greasy Merino sold to 20 : JdWINTER. IN SYDNEY. SYDNEY, June 22. The weather conditions prevailing in Sydney this whiter are unprecedented. Since Wednesday last there has been a fog every morning, several of them of extraordinary density. In former winters two or even three fogs occurred on successive days but the Weather Bureau records dating back to 1859 do not show a condition similar to that at present, existing. -The' ferry traffic on the harbour is badly disorganised, some boats being held up for hours. Thousands of people arrive Into for work daily. The railway services are also seriously interrupted. 'There has been several minor mishaps and collisions hut fortunately nobody has been injured.
THE DUNEDIN EXHIBITION. BRISBANE, .Tuno 22. Mr H. AY. Mosley, speaking of the Dunedin Exhibition, which he attended as a representative of tho Government, declared that tho exhibition liras been an unprecedented success, broth in regard to display and ns to a financial point of view. The Queensland display had been particularly admired, it is considered that the Exhibition paved a way for additional trade with Queensland, but the opportunity has to bo vigorously and systematically pursued.
