WEDDING BELLS

KIRBY— FR EE. The wedding took place, at Southbridge recently of ATiss Marjorie free, second daughter of Airs and the late Afr John Free, to Afr Harold Kirby, 8.A., at present oil the staff of the Waipukurau High School, and formerly in charge of the secondary department at tiie Soiithbridge School. Both parties to the marriage are very popular. and St. James’s Anglican Church, whovo the marriage ceremony was runducted by the Rev. It. G. Hawkins, was almost filled with friends.

Tlio bride, who was given away bv her uncle, Mr James O. Free, ol Leeston, wore a. French model frock of apricot georgette, heavily beaded \ ill l crystals. Her veil was held in place with a silver coronet and sbe carried a beautiful bouquet ol roses .and autumn flowers.

There were two bridesmaids. Misses Jessie Free, (sister of the bride) and Muriel H.ow.ilson. Both wore frock's of blue georgette, trimmed with cream lace. Thev wore black hats and euiried bouquets to tone with their frocks. ]\l l- Walter Harris, oT Christchurch, was host man and Mr C. Tt. Bou , of Christchurch, groomsman. Mr A. J. In wood presided at the organ. A reception, was afterwards held in the Town. Hall. Mrs Free received her guests wearing a. frock of new brown rep cloth, with fur wraps and a brown hat to match. Her bouquet was of autumn flowers. Tlie usual toasts were honoured, good wishes being expi ■ cd for the future happiness and prosperity of the happy couple. When Mr and Mrs Kirhv left c.u their wedding trip, the latter was wearing a snxo blue rep cloth enscmblod suit with a hat to match.
