COAL SETTLEMENT. SYDNEY, June 17
The Engine Drivers’ and Firemen’s Association have called off the strike and the employees are instructed to present themselves for work to-mor-row in order to have the mines ready for the resumption on Monday, when the conference will he resumed. Mr Hihhlc (head of the Coal Tribunal, Jannounees the terms of settlement as previously cabled. He said he was anxious that all the mines should recommence on the same day. The conference then adjourned till to-morrow, to enable the owners and men to eomplete the details. It is estimated that the loss of wages through the coal strike lias amounted to £700,000 and the value OMIIO coal not min'd to £1,700,000.
