NEW YORK, Juno 16.

Cardinal Bonzano, the Papal Legate, with Cardinals Cliarest, Faliiabcr, Dubois, Cas.inova, Piffl, Czernocli, Ha.vcs and O’Donnell, have left New York aboard a special train, called “The Cardinal Special,” for Chicago to attend the 28th International Eucharistic Congress. They departed following on a several d-nVs visit to New York, which included a formal civic reception. There were colorful processions on the occasion.

The cars for the “Cardinal Special” trail were specially built and decorated. They are painted a brilliant cardinal red. Unusually elaborate precautions have .been taken to safeguard the Prelates throughout their journey, including special detachments of the police along the route, also careful inspections of their food, and examination of the tracks.

Thousands of people thronged the station here to witness the cardinals’ departure. The Eucharistic Congress at Chicago formally opens on -dune 20th. It will last for four days;

The preparations for the Eucharistic Congress have been on an .extraordinarily elaborate scale. The accommodation alone lias necessitated one million reservations of hotel rooms, etc., for the delegates and tlie visitors. Meantime the Nuns at Chicago and others have .long been working in preparing ocininunion wafers, together with vestments, paper flowers, and filler requisite articles. The eolliseum at Chicago has been converted into a Shrine for Masses, which will he celebrated at half-hour into nulls from dawn until noon each day of the Congress.

The biggest altar in the world has lieen erected on the so-called “Soldier’s Field,” for the Papal Delegate. Four hundred other shrines have been erected elsewhere. NEW YORK, June 18.

Tt was officially announced on Thursday that the twenty-uintli international Euchrastic Congress will be held at Sydney in 1028.
