PHOSPHATE DISPUTE. -MELBOURNE, .June 17. In (lie Federal House of Representatives, Mr Bruce announced the terms of reference of the enquiry to he conducted by Sir Arthur Robinson into the operation of the British Phosphate Commission. Sir A. Robinson will be asked to report upon the alleged inharmonious relations between the Australian Phosphate Commissioner and the British and New Zealand Phosphate Commissioners, and between the Australian Commissioner and the executive and staff of the commission; and also to enquire as to the extent to which such relations have affected the interests of the commission in genera], and Australian interests in particular. and the extent to which they have contributed towards the decision of the Commissioners to transfer the head office of the Commission from Australia to New Zealand.

He is also to report how far the investigations of the Royal Commission support the contention of the British Government that harmony between commissioners cannot he established as long as the present Australian Commissioner remains in office. Sir A. Robinson is enjoined to report as soon as possible. An effort will he made to have the sitting in camera. S.S. TAHITI DELAYED. SYDNEY. June 17. The departure of the- Tahiti, due to sail at four o’clock, was postponed until midnight owing to engine room repairs.
