THREE APPOINTED. SIR R. STOUT TO FOLLOW. BV TELEGRAPH —I'RF.SS ASSN., COFYRICHT. WELLINGTON, June 16. The Prime Minister announced this evening that the following have been recommended for appointment to the Legislative Council:—Mr C. J. Carrington, Dargarville; Mr J. H. Hanan, Dunedin, and 51 r T. Shailer Weston. Wellington. Mr Coates said also that it had been his intention to include the Hon Sit; Koljcrt Stout in tfie list of appointments, but the Crown Law Office advised that a provision in the' Legislature Act debarred his appointment till a period of six months had elapsed after Sfr Robert's retirement from the position of Chief Justice. Mr Coates added that a recommendation in respect to Sir R. Stout would lie duly submitted to His Excellency at the proper time.
