HOCKEY.

[by TELEORAVH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.' HOCKEY FEELING. ELTHAM, June IT. The Taranaki Hockey Association enters a strong protest against the principle of ihe selecting of the New Zealand rep. team in that ihe selectors made no effort to see in action the nominees from small asociations; and that a selector should himself be included in the rep. team; that the merits of the smaller Associations as indicated by the scores registered against the Indians, have not been considered; also that the Association he .asked for a definite statement of the arrangements made with Wellington and Taranaki. It contends that the Association acted above its powers in entering upon special arrangement with any one affiliated Association without acquainting all with such an arrangement and offering similar conditions; farther that a remittance of the financial returns from the !r.-dian-Taranaki nvitch to headquarters be withheld pending further information.
