The wrecked steamer Manaia. as L the case with all other vcsiels of'the Northern Company’s fleet, was covered by a “T.L.0.” (total loss only) policy, the amount of which is not at present available.
The value of the vessel was something over £20,000. At a conference of the directors of the company and the underwriters, held this morning, if was decided that the Afanaia he offered for sale as she now lies. Her cargo will not he included In the sale. AUCKLAND, June If.
At the. Northern Wharf this morning, the steamer ID mu and the auxi' iary scow Motu were busily engaged in discharging the salvaged cargo front the Maiinin. The Motu, which was the first vessel to arrive at the scene of five wreck reached Auckland on Saturday morn ing. When standing by on Friday, a quantity of cargo, including a number of bales of hemp, was taken out of the Manilla's after-hold, and stored on hoard the. scow.
On learning that tlvs TD'nni had been dispatched from Auckland, and in view of the fact that the Manaia was in no immediate danger, the Motu left Slipper Island for the city on Frid: afternoon.
