ARAHUR.A FAT STOCK SALE. Yesterday’s fixture at these yards was accompanied by real winter weather which militated against the attendance and severely affected the appearance of stock, 'flic yarding comprised a very large proportion of cow and heifer beef. The finished lots selling well and also best ox beef. Prices were on a par with those of the last sale. Sixty-three head of cattle and IGS sheep were submitted at auction.
Messrs A\ . Jeffries and Co sold as follows:—On account of Messrs Nolan Bros., 128 six- and eight-tooth breeding ewes at 20s, 37 aged cows nt 20s, 3 at 22s fid. On account of F. A. Simpson,. 2 light steers at £5, 1 cow at ,£■■>, 1 at .Co 7s (id, 2 heifers at ,C 5 10s, l at £-1 12s Gd. On account of Loo Haddock, 1 cow at £9 17s Gd, 1 at £9 ss, 1 at £8 10s, .1. at £7 12s Gd, 2 at £b ss, 2 at £(> 2s (id, 2 runners at £4. Messrs M. Houston and Co report— The usual fortnightly sale took place at the above yards yesterday, to the usual attendance of buyers. Our entry consisted of 43 head of fat cattle, a large proportion of which was medium quality cow heel'. Good ox beef met with good competition at prices on a par with last sale, realizing on an average of about 37s (id per hundred, whilst cow beef brought from 20* to 395, according to quality. The following were our sales:—On account of M. Nolan, l heifer at £7 10s, l at £(i, 2 bullocks at £9 12s Gd. 2 steers at £0 15s. 1 vealcr at £4 17s (id, 1 at £2, 2 heifers at £G. On account of D. Bradley. 2 cows at £3, 5 at £3. On account of J. Havill 1 heifer at £3 10s, 1 cow at £3 10s. On account of \Y. Diedriclis. 2 cows at £4 ss, one at £3, 1 bullock at £l4 ss, 2 at £ll 15s, 1 at £l3 7s Gd, 1 at £l3 2s (id, 2 at £9 10s. 3 at £lO ss, 1 cow at £3 10s, 1 at £7 12s Gd, 1 at £5. 1 bullock at £9 17s (id, 2 suckers at £4 10s, 1 cow at £4 2s (id, 1 bullock at £9 os, 1 sucker at £2los, 2 bullock at £9 ss, 1 cow at £4. On account of ,1. Stan key, 27 small lambs at 11s, 43 sheep at 18s.
