Civil Service Sports at Stamford Bridge finished last. The track was heavy, and there was no medium start man to take him along. Rose covered the quarter-mile in sixty and lourfifths, and as after that he saw no chance of catching the leaders, he eased up. Six runners competed. Driver of "Woolwich Polytechnic, won. with 75 yds. start in 4.17 1-5 sees. Rose’s time was 4.32 3-5.
