(to be elected). Senior—United (Grey) v. Hokitika, 3 p.m. (Mr Gaylor). Third grade.—Kiwi v. School at 3 p.m. The special attraction on Cass Square on Saturday afternoon will be the senior contest between United (Grey) and Hokitika teams. The visiting Greymouth team has been considerably strengthened of late and they are very confident of scoring a win on this occasion. Tho contest should therefore prove an interesting one and attract a large attendance. The other game for Cass Square is the junior match at 1.30 p.m. between Kiwi and Excelsior. In addition to the announced games for to-morrow the third grade match Kiwis v. School has been set down for 3 p.m.

At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Rugby Union to-night Dailey (Christchurch) was appointed captain and Stewart (South Canterbury) vice-captain of the South Island team; AJ. Nicholls (Wellington) captain and C. Porter (Wellington) vice-captain of the North Island team*. The Alaori team to tour France will play Auckland on July 17th. and Wellington on July 21st., and leave for Sydney on July 23rd. It will play a match at Alelboume on July 31st. and arrive at .Marseilles on September 3rd. The first match in France v bo played on September 12th. It was decided that the Auckland and Wellington teams should get twenty per rent, of the gate. Alolbourno will get 2o per cent. XEPIA UNABLE TO PLAY. WELLINGTON, June 11. Word lias been received that Nepia, who was selected as full back for the North Island Rugby team, is unable to play. J. A. Afalcolm, of Wellington, will fill the vacancy. LEAGUE FOOTBALL. SYDNEY, June 10. The Australian Rugby League Board of Control has decided to invite an English team to visit Australia and New Zealand in 1927. Regarding the unanimity of rules in England, New Zealand and Australia, it was decided that any suggested alteration in the laws should be forwarded to New Zealand at the end of the season, asking that country to cooperate, aii3 at the same time pointing out the results of their operation in Australia.
