[Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.] HUNGARY’S FINANCE. (Received this day at 12.25 p.m.) GENEVA, June 10. The League Council adopted the report of the committee on financial reconstruction of Hungary, recommiciuling the cessation of the function] of Jeremiah Smith from July Ist. Dubois, Chairman of the Committee, pointed out that Smith’s departure from Hungary did not mean the end of tho League control with regard to the balance of the reconstruction loan amounting to eighty-three million gold crowns, t'lio revenues assigned to service loan, but will mean the abolition of control of the budget. Bctlilen oxpresed the gratitude of the Hungarian people for the effort, resulting in successful financial reconstruction, in a short space of tw<> and a-lialf years.

Count Eetlilen (Hungarian Premier) was the victim of an assault by a Hungarian, who burst into a room where the League holds its session and sharply slapped Retlilen’s face shouting: “ That .is on behalf of the Hungarian nation.” An Italian delegate rescued Bethlen from the assailant and the latter was arrested. Ho is named Dejusth and lie is secretary of the Hungarian Republican Party. He obtained a ticket of admission ns a journalist, declaring when arrested that he wanted to brand a criminal.
