CAN ADI AN BOYCOTT. MONTREAL, April 21. Mr Taseheran, the Premier of Quebec, in a statement to-day defied American film producers to bo.yott the province as they had threatened to do after August because of what tliey described as the worst censorship in the world. The Quebec Government, said Mr Taseheran, does not intend to alter the powers of its board of censorship, nor will it instruct the board to be less severe. Air Taseheran added: “ Many magistrates tell us that bad films arc responsible for the demoialisntion of our young men. I believe that is correct. This alone is sufficient to justify our censorship. “If Quebec is to be deprived of pictures because we insist on good pictures, other provinces either will cooperate with us to improve the pictures or will also be affected in their supply.” The Marquis R. de Rousav de Sales, chairman of the board of censors, said that the mentality of Frencli-Canad-inns had to be considered. The Catholic Church did not accept divorce and so did not want it shown on the screen. Another member of the hoard of censors, M.r .T. C. Mae Diarmid. said. “We never touch a good picture. It is only indecencies, suggestiveness and crime that we condemn.” GERMANY’S TERMS TO RUSSIA. BERLIN, April 21.
