ADDINCTON STOCK SALES. A GOOD MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs H. Matson and Co. report as follows regarding tlieir stock salo at Addington yards yesterday:— Store Sheep.—A fair yarding and with the exception of a few exceptional lines of local ewes, the quality iffas very irregular and mostly inferior. Not many dry sheep wore yarded. The market was firm all round, one exceptional line of ilia It bred ewe lambs making 335. Rest S.M. crossbred ewes at 28s 3d ; S.M. Romney cross ditto to 26s ; two and four tooth crossbred w.cthers, 22s to 25s 3d; best lambs M.S. 20s to 235; medium 18s to 19s 6d ; others to 15s. Store Cattle.—A small yarding and mostly nondescript lots of cows. One small pen of three year steers made £5. There were no other quotable lines. Fat Pigs.—The market opened firm for porkers and held throughout. Raconers were firm, throughout, selling readily at late rates. Values: Light porkers -16 s to 565, heavy 59s to 735. average 8:1 to 9d per lb. Raconers £-1 to £4 15s, heavy £5 to £5 15s, extra to £6 10s, average 7-Jtl to 8-1 tl. Choppers £3 12s Od, to £7. Store Pigs.—A medium entry and prices all through wore better than late rates. Good medium and large showed a sharp advance. Values: Wethers 12s Od to 20s, slips 25s to 295, small stores 30s to 3*l s, medium 36s to 40s, large 45s to 50s. Hoof.—Another large yarding, about 490 head. A larger proportion of steers than lately and included several North Island consignments. Any good heifers or clean cows sold well, perhaps better than last week, but owing to the heavy yarding of steers they were easier. Prime steers £l2 los to £ls 10s. extra to £lB 12s 6d. medium £lO 15s to £l2 10s fid, others to £7. Prime neifers £9 7s fid to £ll 10s. extra to £l2 2s fid, medium ±,7 15 to £9. others to £4 15s. Prime cows £8 los to £ll, extra to £l3 17s fid, medium £fi 5s to £8 10s, others to £4. Mutton. —An exceptionally heavy yarding for this time of the year. More wethers than usual and cju'alitthroughout was better than We have seen for some time. The market all round showed little quotable difference from last week, but if anything was slightly easier. Exporters were operating keenly. Prime wethers 31s to 355, extra to 40s Id, medium 20s to 31s- fid, others to 275. Prime ewes 22s to 2fi.s, extra- to 34s Id, medium l?s fid to 21s fid, others to 14s. Fat Lambs.—A large yarding and for this time of the year the quality is excellent. A good sale throughout and exporters were operating -keenly. The market was quite as firm as last week A' One nice line of Vest Coast lambs averaged aboue 28s 7d, equal to fully lOd per lb. It is 'rumoured that the works are closing at the end of .Tune.
