BRITISH POLITICS

[Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.] LIBERAL RIFT. LONDON, June 8. The Liberal Parliamentary Party split between the Lloyd Georgian and the OxfordMu sections, resulted in a meeting at the House of Commons at which thirty-three were present. A letter was read from Lord Oxford saying that nothing had happened to alter the views ho had recently expressed in criticising Air Llovd George’s attitude during the strike.

A motion was proposed that the Liberal members of the House of Commons deprecated the publicity given to tlio leaders’ differences, and hoped for a restoration of unity. This was curried by twenty votes to ten, after an amendment to delete tbe first part had been rejected by 20 to 12. The voting thus favoured the Lloy-J Georgians.
