LONDON, June 7. 'Kellewny says ’*l do not forget That I rarely have been accused of being reckless myself, but I have always tried to suit tho play to the state of tho game. This was not done in England in any match this season.” Kellewny suggests that Carr is depending upon slow hitting and bad wickets to win tho tests, and he marked: “This is wrong, each game should he played with the intention <Tf forcing a- Kdin. ’ England must learn to go out for a win from me first minute of tho play. LONDON, June 7. V specialist is of opinion that Macauley will he fit to take part in the first test match, provided that betakes a complete rest. Faulkner, writing in “Westminster G.v-ette,” criticising the England versus the Rost match, wonders if ever poorer hatting were seen in a match of such importance. “The participator, (he savs) did not possess the knack of making a big effort on a big occasion. The art of forcing the game has disappeared. If this trial is any proof of the best English batsmen’s capabilities, X should not ho surprised if tho selectors are greatly dissatisfied. Fender’s captaincy of The Rest worried England out for at least one hundred runs less than they could have been considered with.”
