.MONDAY. JUNE 7. The Committee moot at 7 p.m. Present: —Messrs H. Swcney (Chairman), Pedder, Ilnseler, Preston, Shannon, Clark, Coulsou, Richards, and Conning (lion. sec.). The minutes were confirmed and correspondence outward approved. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. From. B. Seward, teacher, South Spit, reporting roll number 11 and average attendance 10. —Received. From Borough Council promising attention to Committee’s request for clearing and improving in vicinity of school when weather improved.—Received. From Dental Officer reporting 165 patients treated, 20 examined.—Received. Front Y.M.C.A., Christchurch, re showing educational films at school during school hours.—Received; enquiries to he made. From Board asking particulars of cost of conveyance of scholars to and from South Spit.—Received, Secretary to reply. From Rector (E. Partridge) stating roll number primary JOG, average attendance 95 per cent; secondary 61 and 07 per cent; also asking for some small requisites.—Received.

It was resolved to hold the annual school fair in aid of the funds early in September, the Rector to arrange a suitable date. I’lie Ground Committee reported that 200 loads of sand were being supplied. It was resolved to interview the High School Board, per Messrs Richards, Swcney and Conning, to ask for a grant towards cost of stationery for the secondary school. Accounts presented. were passed for payment. On the motion of the Chairman and Mr Preston it ,w.as resolved that the thanks of the Committee be conveyed to those residents of Christchurch who had arranged for accommodation of school children from the Hokitika district on their way to and from the Exhibition and that Mr Kirk (Secretary of the Education Board) bo advised and requested to pass on the vote. I'lie Committee then rose.
