At a conference dealing with agricultural matter attended by representatives of mil the States a motion in favour of stabilising the dairy industry by setting up butter and cheese boards in each State, to act in collaboration with each other and with the Fedeifd Dairy Produce Control Board was discussed. One delegate said as the result of a stabilising scheme for the first time for many years the local prices were 9s IGd per ewt or a penny per pound higher than the London price. Furthermore, comparing the beginning of 1920 and 1925 prices, the overseas markets were about on a inr, but local/prices were sixpence a pound higher in 1928. - The motion was finally agreed to.
