MAD BULLDOG.
LONDON, April 14. A bulldog which suddenly went mad in Lyfvord-road, Wandsworth, S.W., last evening 'and ferociously attacked a van horso had to be destroyed at once. r i he dog, a. massive creature, which belonged to Miss Miller, of Frewinroatl, .Wandsworth Ccinunon S.W., was walking-with its mistress on the pavement when a horse pressed. Without warning it- rushed into the road and savagely hit at the horses’s legs. In a few moments the horse was bleeding profusely, and file driver had great difficulty in keeping it under control. A workman who was passing stunned 'the bulldog with a spado and prevented it from attacking onlookers who had tried to get it nwnv from the horse. ‘A veterinary surgeon who was "ailed destroyed the dog with an injection and nlso treated the horse. Miss Wingfield, a servant employed at a house opposite which the incident occurred, told a reporter that'.the dog attacked the horse for nearly a quarter of an hour. “It v4is very badly kicked by the horse,” she said, “but took no notice.” |
