KEEN COAIPETLTTON IN OHINEAIURI. AUCKLAND. June 3. Claims for precedence in the granting if licenses were freely placed before, the Ohineinuri Licensing Committee, which held its first sitting at Pacroa on Tuesday and Wednesday. .Many applicants sought to establish their rights to preference, as provided in the Licensing Amendment Act of 1910, but as the- Committee may exercise ils powers to grant only the minimum of seven licenses for the district, precedence was urged in several ways. One of these was the antiquity of the licenses held hy some of the houses before the carrying of lio-licnse in 1908.
