INDIANS WIN AGAIN. BV- TKLEGU.U'II—TRUSS ASSN., COPYRIGHT. WELLINGTON. June 3.
Spectacular hockey was witnessed to-day, when the Indian Army team met Wellington Reps., and it was undoubtedly the finest exhibition of hockey witnessed in Wellington. There was an attendance of thirteen thousand. The visitors showed marvellous combination and seemed to anticipate each other’s movements. Play was very fast and shifted from end to end with lightning rapidity. Wellington were enthusiastically cheer.rtl when they netted their first goal, for which, Knowles was responsible. He netted a second time, but was off-side. In the first half, Capt. 'Belldhamber scored two goals, Captain Cox one, and Dhitt Chand two. In the second, Capt. Bedchamber scored two, and Dhia. Chand one, while Frances a,ml Jacobsen scored for Wellington. 'The final scores were: India 8, Wellington 3. The game was remarkable for the wonderful speed of the visitors, and their splendid field play, and accuracy in netting.
