CRICKET.
CRTCKET COMATENT. [Reuter Telegrams.] LONDON, Alay 80. The Sunday papers and weekly cricket papers are emphasising that the Australian run making machine has at last revealed itself. They admit the Middlesex bowling was by no means mediocre, but the Australians wore, it down solidly and .effectually, hut should have flogged if more towards the close of the day. Major Trevor writing in the “Daily Y 1 ail” heaps praise upon Andrews, who gave quite the best display of the tour, with the exception of Araeartnov’s against Arnrylebonc Club. Andrews is a stylist, if that- consists of doing what ho sets out to do without apparent effort. Collins worked for his runs -hard and successfully. Likewise Bardsley broke the spell of ill success, but i= still not at his best. (OMAIENT ON THE TEAAI. LONDON, Aray 31. The “ Daily Telegraph's” special writer says that the only real surprise in England’s team is the selection of Allen. Ho recalls Allen’s remarkable bowling in the ’Varsity match in 1922, and adds that the team inleudes six or seven great batsmen, and three others who can score. Practically every member of the team is a first-rate field.
