[Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.] A FIRE. SYDNEY, May 31. A fire at Linden Court, Castloreagh Street, early this morning trapped the caretaker and family of six on the roof. They awoke to find the building abliaze and -escape via the stairways cut off. They fled to the roof in their night clothes. It was bitterly cold and the firemen after a difficult task rescued them by ladders from an adjoining building. The fire caused considerable damage. CANBERRA BUILDING SITES. SYDNEY. May -31. The second auction sale of leases of Federal Capital sites at Canberra realised £46,580. Banks and insurance companies paid high figures for picked positions. AYilues realised generally considerably above the upset prices. SYDNEY. May 30. A lire at the O.T. factory, Holt St., did damage which is estimated to he in the vicinity of fifty thousand pounds.
