RIFF SECRET HISTORY. INTERESTING REVELATIONS PROMISED. [“ Tlie Times ” Service.] ißeceived this day at 8.30 a.in.) LONDON, May 27. Tlier “Times” Tangier correspondent reveals a striking secret history of the Rilf campaign. He suggests that Krim’s correspondence with certain Europeans should be examined with a view to publication. This would disclose astonishing criminal documents to which much bloodshed and devastation is due. It would also possibly reveal the existence of mines in the Jliff Territory, whereby the Riff etij idity might he awakened owing to the Foreigners seeking concessions. The correspondent declares that on the eve of the final struggle Kritn appealed for foreign intervention through a confidential messenger. lie recalls that Krim. twice previously sought Britain’s intervention in the interests of peace, and adds that the sources which may soon he divulged, encouraged Krim to maintain the fight against France and Spain, and under no circumstances to negotiate with newspapers who described him as incapable of good faith and desirous of obtaining a cessation of hostilities for the purpose of entrapping the Riffs. Regarding Krim’s surrender, the correspondent says it changes the aspect of the Morroccan question, eliminating a single force under an effective head, resulting in a repercussion throughout the Moslem World, because during his pretensions of religious leadership, he attracted many restless Moslems. KRIM’S SURRENDER. TANGIER, May 27. The surrender of Abdel Krim was not surprising, as he was known to be in llight, if not hiding, fearing assas- i sination by his disappointed followers. The French had captured the greater part of the Jcbellianmian mountain fastness, which was Abdel Krim’s last sanctuary. His own tribe, Reiiiwariagliel, had submitted and practically the wholie Riff territory was in the hands of the Frnnco-Spaniards, only two tribes remaining intact, Uhomara and Djchela. They apparently were unaware of Abdel Krim’s collapse.
