HOCKEY.

INDIANS WIN AGAIN. [by TELEGRAPH—PER TRESS ASSOCIATION.] DANNEVIRKE, May 26. Played under practically perfect conditions, except that the light *uddenly failed for about a quarter of an hour in the concluding stages, the. hockey match between the Indian Army team and the Dannevirke i ;ps on tho Domain in the presence of between 3000 and 4000 spectators was interesting throughout. The visitors recorded the largest score of tlieir Dominion four so far, being victorious by 20 points to nil. Though the score was lop-sided, the game, according to one of the visiting European officers, was the best the team have participated ill since reaching New Zealand. The first spell ended with eight goals to the credit of the Indians, and in the second spell they added 12 more. Dhi an Oh a nd, the centre forward, again upheld his reputation as a scorci, notching seven goals. Captain BellChamber was a close second with six, while Captain Cox got four, Corporal Snsantlian two, and Second Lieutenant Lai Singh one. The vistors outshone the home team in stick work, dribbling, and tactics generally, while their shooting was very deadly. A featuie of their play was the push shot which they used at all times very effectirely, while in corner hits, one man ."topped the ball with His hand, and another took the shot at goal, which proved a fruitful method of attack. The visitors’ exposition outshone that of the home team all round, and they played a fast game from start to finish. Refereeing, Messrs Mainscott and Aithcheson gave every, satisfaction. A curtain raiser between Manawatu and Ruahine ladies’ teams resulted in a win for the former by three points to nil.
