CHRISTCHURCH PRECAUTIONS. [by TELEGRAPH PER PRESS ASSOCIATION’.J CHRISTCHURCH, May 24. I Acting upon the recommendation of the Health Department, the City Council to-night decided to call a conference of Local Bodies for Friday, for the purpose of setting up an organisation to combat any possible outbreak of influenza. The recommendation has been made by the Department in view of the outbreak in Australia and other places. Councillor Agar said to-night that, while lie did not wish to he an alarmist, he was in a position to state that the Health Department was of the opinion -that- all Local Authorities should he in a position to set up working- committees within forty-eight hours.
