COFFEE STAFF Koff. Constable Oliver and “Rogers are on the sick-list, one suffering from a kick in the eye and the other from a kick in the stomach, both aclministered by Christopher Brandon, who in consequence will spend the next three months in gaol. The row began at a coffee-stall outside a fire station in Kingsla lid-road, and when the two officers tried to arrest Brandon, who was “fighting drunk” they were met with a bombardment of coffee cups front a hostile crowd. The coffee-stall was converted into an ammunition dump, and, ignoring the anguished protests of the proprietor, the crowd hurled crocJcery at the constables, who crouched under the shower. Both were hit by the flying fragments, and collapsed when they arrived with their prisoner at the police station. ;
