HOKITIKA FOOTBALL CLUB.

A meeting of the above Club was held at Keller’s Sample Booms on Tuesday 18th. inst., when- a large and enthusiastic meeting resulted. Mr F. McGregor was voted to the chair, after which the meeting proceeded to elect the various officers :—- Prior to electing the officers, various active playing members stressed the need of unity in the matter of the senior team and the opinion was freely expressed that the material at present in hand, gave promise of pr during a senior combination which will prove a strong competition for West Coast honors in the senior grade. A new player to senior football on the Coast will make his first appearance with the team in the person of Air A. AfcTntosh, who lias represented Southland Province upon successive occasions. Splendid reports of this player’s ability have been received from Southland, and the Club ate to he congratulated upon having acquired the playing services of such an outstanding man.

On Sunday the 23rd. at 2.30 p.m. the team will play a friendly match against Kanieri Club at the Alcntal Hospital ground. No members of the public will be permitted to attend as the match is being staged for the benefit of the patients. The following members are requested to be in attendance: J. AlcCleary, H. Steel. P.
