In dull weather, and on a fine, fast ground, tie Indian Army hockey team gave a brilliant exhibition against the SontSi Auckland reps. From the bully off, tho Indians carried pipy to the circle, where they were awarded k penalty corner, from which Captain Cox scored the first goal with a lightning shot. When play was resumed, Finch, of Waipa, received an .-accidental knock on the head, compelling him to leave the field. His brother, O. Finch filled the vacancy. As the result of a very clever piece of stick work, and skilful scientific play. Captain Bell-Chamber, Captnin Cox and Captain Alexander each added a goal, making the half time score:—lndian Army, four goals; South Auckland, nil. In tho second spell the local players emlepvoured. to copy the visitors’ style and their play improved, blit they weie still outclassed by the Indian Army representatives. Captain Bell-Cham-ber added two further goals, and Captain Cox lin'd Shangnrn Singh, one each, making the final scores:—lndian Army, 8 goals; South Auckland, nil.
