[BY TELEGRAPH —TER PRESS ASSOCIATION INDIAN HOCKEY TEAM. HAMILTON, Alay 10. Playing tho second match of their New Zealand tour at Hamilton on Saturday, the Indian Army hockey team defeated AA’aikato reps by seven to nil. Tho ground was in good order and the wcatliey fine. The match was watched by the largest crowd ever seen at a hockey contest in Hamilton.
Although the pace.land form of AYaikato were surprisingly good for the commencement of the season, they lacked finish. Tho visitors gave a spectacular, brilliant performance, playing with machine-like precision. Six goals came from the stick of Dhian Clibnd, who played a remarkable game at centre forward. The other was secured by Bell-Chamber. The outstanding play of Waikato’s goalkeeper, Fletcher, prevented the visitor’s score being much greater. The first goal was secured in the e’arly stages of ihc game. AVaikato pressed hard in trying to penetrate (ho visitors’ defence. Although, there were many brilliant individual efforts, there was a lack of support and combination. The half timo score was three to nil. AVaikato played better in Hie second spoil. Their efforts were unsuccessful, ml though they frequently kept play in the circle, ihe visitors continued consistently, while Waikato maintained a stubborn defence, and the game ended seven to nil.
