drug hoard seized. LONDON', March 22. Detectives visited a boarding-house in St. Stephen’s-road, Paddington, on Saturday and in a room formerly occupied by Richard Butler, who, with a coloured man, was sent to prison on Friday for being in unauthorised possession of cocaine, found a large quantity of this drug. It- was in three tins, and would have realised more than £I,OOO if disposed of illicitly.

It is believed that the cocaine was smuggled from Germany and that the arrests will stop an increasing traffic in the drug. Butler was a captain in the Royal Air Force during the war.
