The Crisis In Britain. A general strike is not an industrial dispute, hut a. revolutionary movement intended to put forcible constraint on the Government. Whether this force is applied directly or indirectly it is a challenge to the Government, which must he met, and Mr Baldwin lias taken the only possible course hv breaking off negotiations 1 until the Union leaders unconditionally 1 call off the general strike. It rests 1 therefore with the General Council of ! the Trades Union Congress to say s whether there is to he peace or war. : —Christchurch “Press.” 1
