ADDINGTON STOCK SALES. A STEADY Sai.E. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Afcssrs H. Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday : Store sheep—A fair sized yarding

and again included a large proportion of North Island ewes. The market generally was much easier, hut au\ irood young cwck or iorward wethers and lambs were still in demand, hut the sale did not have the same sting. Not many iambs were yarded. Best lambs, 2(ls to 225, smaller 10s fid to 19s fid, others to 12s; -J-ewe lambs 23s to 27s 2d, S.Af. I-hred and Romney owes 27s to 28s (id. medium 20s to 23s fid, F.AI. ditto 17s to 19s fid, best wethers to 2i.s fid.

Store cal tie—A fair yarding and included several pens of docent steers, although the entry as usual comprised mostly odd lots. Three and 1-year sleer.s £fi 10s to £9 2s 0:1. good 2-yr. ditto £7. other classes unchanged.

Fat pigs—A smaller entry of porkers, very few arriving from the West Coast. Tlie sale for porkers was much better than late sales and showed an advance of 5s to 7s Od a head. Baconers, a full yarding and the sale opened well at late rates and held throughout, good prices being recorded all through. Choppers sold well at late rates. Values: Light porkers, 47s to 555. heavy 00s to 725. average 8d to 9d per lb; baconers, £1 to £4 16s, heavy £5 to £‘s 10s. extra to £6 os, average 8d to B]d per 111. Choppers, £3 10s to £6 10s.

Store pigs—A small entry and values same as last week. AVeaners: 9s to 12s. best up to 18s, slips 23s to 295, small stores 32s to 365, mediums to 435. No large stores were offering.

Beef—A ’very large yarding and comprised mostly cows, the quality generally being inferior, although several lots of outstanding cattle were yarded. The sale opened firm and continued so till the last alley which was mostly comprised of old cows, and sales then were hard to make. Prime steers £l7 to £lB 15s, extra to £2l 12s 6d. medium £ll 10s to £l4 10s. others to £9 10s, prime heifers £9 to £ll 10s, extra to £l3 17s fid, others to £l4 15s. Prime cows £8 to £lO 10s. extra to £l4 2s fid, medium £5 5s to £7 14s, others to £3.

Alutton—A large yarding and included a bigger proportion of wethers than usual. Tlie quality all round was good, exporters operating freely on light wethers and medium ewes, lint the market all round was hardly as firm as last week. Prime wethers 31s fid to 365, extra to 38s, medium 2'2.s to 21s, others to 265, prime ewes 22s to 2fis. extra to 30s 7d, medium 18s fid to 21s fid. others to iTs.

Lambs—A small yarding and despite a reduction, in the overall price the sale showed little difference to last week, schedule prices beittff full maintained.
