EXHIBITION ENDS. HUGE FINAL ATTENDANCE. [BY TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. | DUNEDIN, May 2. The lights of Logan Park winked out for the last lime, after 83,935 visitors had attended during the day, making a total of 3,200,498. The closing ceremony was performed by the tit. Hon. .1. G. Coates. Prime Minister. The other speakers included Mr •). Sutherland Ross (Chairman of the Exhibition Directors), Mr 'tap ley, M.P., (Mayor). There was an apology from tho Go-vernor-General and Lady Alice I’ergusson. The King's message of congratulations was read by Mr Coates. Trains brought over 6000 visitors. Rain fell all day anil at night, but it made little difference. Ibe city was full of people. The traffic was the heaviest on record in. Dunedin. I here was no accidents and no unruly crowds.
The city subsided on Sunday morning, after the greatest day in its history. The Band was received musingly and Mr Coates had a great reception.
